Why do cats eat grass?

Cats eat grass for a few different reasons, and while it's not fully understood, there are some common explanations:

Digestive aid: Grass can help cats clear their stomachs of hairballs or other indigestible material by inducing vomiting. This can be a way for them to "clean out" their system.

Fiber: Grass provides some fiber, which might help with digestion and regulate their bowel movements.

Nutritional needs: Some people believe that cats eat grass because they instinctively seek out certain nutrients, like folic acid, which is found in grass and helps with red blood cell production.

Instinct: Eating plants might simply be a natural behavior for cats, especially those that live in the wild. Even domestic cats might follow this instinct.
