To deactivate your Facebook account temporarily, follow these steps:
On Desktop:

Log in to Facebook: Go to Facebook.com and log in to your account.
Access Settings: Click on the downward arrow (or your profile picture) in the top right corner of the screen.
Select "Settings & Privacy": From the dropdown menu, click Settings.
Go to "Your Facebook Information": In the left-hand column, click on Your Facebook Information.
Click "Deactivation and Deletion": Find this option and click on it.
Choose "Deactivate Account": Select the Deactivate Account option (this will allow you to temporarily deactivate your account).
Follow the prompts: Facebook will ask you for a reason for deactivating your account and may provide options to stay in touch. After filling this out, confirm your decision.
Enter your password: To finalize, you’ll need to enter your password for security.
Confirm Deactivation: Click Deactivate to complete the process.

On Mobile (Facebook App):

Open the Facebook app and log in.
Go to Menu: Tap on the three horizontal lines (hamburger menu) in the bottom right (iOS) or top right (Android).
Select "Settings & Privacy": Tap on it and then go to Settings.
Go to "Personal Information": Scroll down to Your Facebook Information.
Select "Account Ownership and Control": Tap on this, then choose Deactivation and Deletion.
Choose "Deactivate Account": Select the option to temporarily deactivate your account.
Follow the prompts: Choose a reason and complete any additional information as requested.
Confirm Deactivation: Enter your password and tap Deactivate.

Once deactivated, your Facebook profile will not be visible to others, and you won’t be able to access it until you reactivate it by logging in again.
